The Insider with JJ: GM Analysis

Some reactions:

1) Who actually thought Raymie had traded the most so far?

2) Only 3 owners (Azalin, Sincer, and JJ) have yet to make a trade! All are .500 or better...

3) Draft spot does not seem to have leveled the playing field. With a few exceptions, past success=continued success this season.

4) Judging from past success in 08, the worst drafts go to Bucfan, Confused, and Xtreme.

5) Only 2 owners who drafted in the top 10 (JJ, Bigben) are over .500!!

Mid-Season Power Rankings

Well we should be through the midway point for most of the teams now and we have a real good idea of who is for real and who isn't. Just a couple of things I want to point out before we get to the rankings. One thing I love about GM Mode is the surprises and man have there been some good ones this season. Who the hell saw Blix going 3-10? A top notch owner year in and year out and he is 3-10. No one saw him doing this bad but hey I guess everyone has their bad seasons. Another surprise coming from the same division is the most note-worthy owner in the league struggling as big as he is right now. The Jerzey Xtreme are 5-7 and not even in the top half of the power rankings. Granted he had a bad draft but jeez. At least we know he's human now. I still don't wanna see him sneak in the playoffs and have to play him. A surprise from the NFC this time is second year coach Vader sitting at the top of his division with an impressive 5-1 record. Rarely do guys come in this league and pull that off like he is now. I applaud him now but is it only a matter of time before guys start catching on to his gameplay? We will see. Another surprise....OK fine not really a surprise but an interesting story for the league was the retirement of Caravan Coach OD mid-way through the season. Interim Head Coach Silince will look to end the Caravans season on a good note and turn the team around next season. Now one last thing I want to say about the rankings is that it wasn't easy. There was a lot of teams after the first four that I really wanted to flip-flop and I did a couple times before I got it as accurate as possible. I really wish I could move the Bastards up but with only 3 games played I couldn't and a whole bunch of stuff with some other teams but here ya go. Mid-season Power Rankings.

1) Underdogz (10-3) - Underdogz have been playing great football this season. Is this the year Coach LastDon wins a playoff game? Sure seems like it to me.

2) Yellow Jackets (5-2) - The Yellow Jackets pulled him some great talent bringing in L.T. to really open things up for this offense. Coach Natrone has been known for utilizing his backs to the their full potential and we see no reason why he won't be able to get it done with L.T. The real question is can he catch Coach Don and the Underdogz?

3) Hurricanes (5-1) - The Hurricanes sit atop the NFC South. A division in which many predicted to be won by Coach Bucfan. Only one division game has been played but 5-1 looks nice right now and with a favorable schedule ahead it looks like they will stay the division leader.

4) Shamrocks (10-5) - At the beginning of the season I really don't think anyone saw the Shamrocks sitting at 10-5 and at the top of their division with the almighty X and Blix in it. If not for some close wins this team could really be 7-8 but you know what they say, good teams win close games and they have been.

5) Drillers (6-3) - The Drillers claim to be struggling right now but they are 6-3 right now. The Drillers may be struggling but they are finding ways to win. If this was someone else I may have my doubts but I believe Coach John Riad will get the job done no matter how ugly it may get.

6) Heat (4-2) - Can you really doubt a guy who has been to the big dance multiple times? He may have dropped 2 early games but with one of the easier schedules I got to think he won't lose many more.

7) Knights (5-5) - After 5 straight wins to the start the season off 5-0 the Knights drop 5 games to fall to .500. A couple heartbreakers in the late seconds of the game has hurt the Knights. We have no doubt that as long as AZ Cool returns we will see this team winning again. They deffintley have the talent but do they have the heart?

8) Bastards (3-0) - The Bastards just have 3 games play and I would love to put this team higher but we need to see more to really get an understanding of this team. No statement wins either as of now but I like the Bastards and Coach Neptune to lead this team to the post-season.

9) Fire (3-3) - The Fire are sitting at .500 right now. They have the fire power on the team to get the job done but can they do it consistently is the real question. With the most dangerous WR corps in the league and a balanced defense I'd pencil these guys in for some playoff football.

10) Intimidators (5-3) - These Intimidators haven't really done anything impressive but they are winning and that's all they need to do. Will see if the addition of Willie Parker was worth getting rid of both Galloway and Jammer.

11) Freak (5-3) - Two of the three losses by the Freak have been by 3 points (GAY!) so they could have easily been W's in the record column. I like the addition of Galloway, Grant and Jammer. The NFC South will be a fun race to watch at the end of the season. It wouldn't surprise me if I seen these guys and Coach DrChill take over first place in the South.

12) Titties (1-1) - There was a handful of teams that could have filled the twelfth spot of the rankings but there was no clear cut choice so I went with last seasons Super Bowl Champ. With their season just getting underway we'll see if the Titties are as nice as they are claimed to be.
